Antenatal Clinic

This clinic is run by the midwife. If you become pregnant, you will be given a ‘booking appointment’ at which the midwife will ask you a few questions and carry out some general health checks. You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy by the midwife.

Asthma and Respiratory Disease Clinic

Run by the nursing team, this clinic offers advice and monitors your respiratory medication, ensuring you are on the best treatment possible. Certain patients will be required to perform a breathing test called Spirometry.

Child health and Immunisation Clinic

All babies are invited for a 10 day and 6 week medical with a doctor. Immunisations start at 8 weeks; Immunisation information can be found on http://www.nhs.uk

Contraception/Family Planning

There are various forms of contraception. You can discuss the different options with either a practice nurses or a GP.

Counselling

We have two counsellors and one cognitive behaviour therapist. Please make an appointment with a GP, if you think you would like to be referred

Diabetic Clinic

This is run by our nursing team, and offers advice and general health checks to patients diagnosed with diabetes.

Health Check Clinic

A Health Check for patients between 40 and 75 will help them to better understand their risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes or kidney failure, and the adjustments required to their lifestyle to dramatically reduce such risk and ensure longer healthier lives.

General Surgery Clinic

A General Surgeon from the Royal Derby Hospital Trust, holds a monthly General Surgery clinic at Appletree Medical Practice.

Patients can be referred for appropriate lumps, bumps and hernia problems, often avoiding the need for consultations at hospital.

Orthopaedic Clinic

Mr Pickering, Orthopaedic Surgeon from the Royal Derby Hospital Trust, holds a monthly Orthopaedic clinic at Appletree Medical Practice. Patients can be referred for hip, knee and ankle problems, again often avoiding the need for consultations at hospital.

Physiotherapy

We have an in-house physiotherapy clinic run by Belper Physio. Please make an appointment with a GP to get a referral.

Stop Smoking Clinic

We offer support and advice for patients trying to stop smoking.
